Vivek Thakur, an Indian Politician of the Bharatiya Janta Party from Bihar state of India is currently serving as a member of the Parliament of India as the representative of the Nawada Lok Sabha constituency of Bihar. He entered the Parliament of India by defeating Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) and INDIA alliance candidate Shravan Kumar by more than Sixty thousand votes. Vivek Thakur is serving his first term as a member of the Parliament of India. His father was active in the politics of India.

He was born in the family of Dr C P Thakur and Uma Thakur in Patna city. Vivek Thakur finished his schooling in Patna and moved to Delhi for higher Education. He completed his graduation from Kirorimal College of Delhi University in Political Science and LLB from Magadh University. Shri Vivek Thakur joined politics as a member of the Bhartiya Janta Party at a young age. Vivek also served as a Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly and a Member of Rajya Sabha.
