Dr. Vinay Kore, a politician of Maharashtra was born in 1971 in the Kolhapur district of the state. Vinay Kore is currently serving as a member of the state legislative assembly as the representative of the Shahuwadi assembly constituency of the state. He contested in the general assembly election 2024 from the constituency as the candidate of JSSP (Jan Surajya Shakti party) and defeated his nearest rival of Shiv Sena – UBT Shri Satyajit Babasaheb Patil by a huge margin of more than thirty-six thousand votes.

He first contested in the state assembly election in 1999 as the candidate of the Nationalist Congress Party. The NCP was founded by senior congress leader Sharad Pawar in 1999. Dr Vinay Kore joined the newly founded NCP in his first electoral contest. Later, he founded the Jan Surajya Shakti Party contested in the 2004 assembly elections, and won the assembly seat.

Shri Vinay Kore won the state assembly election 2019 defeating Satyajeet Babasaheb Patil from Shahuwadi constituency once again and retained his seat in the 2024 elections.
