Shri Vijay Baghel, Current Member of the Lok Sabha of the Parliament of India representing Durg Lok Saba constituency as the candidate of Bhartiya Janta Party. He defeated the INDIA alliance candidate in the general election of 2024. Vijay Baghel contested in the general election first time as the candidate of the Bhartiya Janta Party. In his political career, he was first elected as the Chairman of the Bhilai Municipal Council in 2000 and remained the chairman for five years. He joined the Nationalist Congress party.

He was born in Urala town of Durg, Chhattisgarh. Vijay Baghel completed his schooling in his hometown and a B. Com degree from Chhattisgarh University, Raipur. Shri Vijay Baghel started farming and social service after his education and contested in the local body election of Bhilai Municipal Council. He was elected as the chairman of the council in 2000. Later, he joined the Nationalist Congress Party and contested in the state assembly election in 2003.
