Shri Subrata Bakshi, an Indian politician from West Bengal state is serving his first term as a member of the Rajya Sabha of the Parliament of India. He was fielded as the candidate of Rajya Sabha as the candidate of All India Trinamool Congress Party from West Bengal Rajya Sabha Seat. Subrata Bakshi has been active in politics from a young age. He was a member of the Indian National Congress Party before 1998. Bakshi joined Mamata Banerjee-led AITMC after 1998.

He was born in Kolkata in 1950 in the family of Sudhir Ranjan Bakshi (father) and Smt. Malati Bakshi (mother). Subrata Bakshi started social activities in Kolkata city with politics and joined the Indian National Congress Party as a member. He parted away from the Congress Party and joined the Trinamool Congress in 1998.

Subrata Bakshi lives in New Delhi at his official residence as a member of the parliament.
