He contested as the candidate of the Biju Janata Dal from Odisha State in the 2024 Rajya Sabha election. Subhasish Khuntia represents the Odishan Constituency in the Rajya Sabha, an upper house of India. The BJP nominated him as the party’s young leader in preference to senior leaders. He was born to Madhabananda Khuntia and Sulochana Khuntia in Puri, Distt. Puri (Odisha) on July 05, 1983. Subhasish Khuntia completed B.A., LL.B. and M.A. Educated at Surajmal Saha College, Puri, Odisha, G.M. Law College (Utkal University), Puri, Odisha and JRN Rajasthan Vidyapith (Deemed University), Udaipur, Rajasthan. He is a political, lawyer and social worker by profession and was active in politics during his college days.
