Smt. Geniben Nagaji Thakor or Giniben Thakor, a politician of the Indian National Congress party from Gujarat State is serving as a member of the 18th Lok Sabha of the Parliament of India. She is the only candidate who was elected as the MP in Gujarat state as India’s oldest political party INC. Giniben Thakor contested from the Banaskanth constituency and secured the seat of Lok Sabha defeating Rekhaben Hiteshbhai Chaudhary of the Bhartiya Janta party in the general election of 2024.
Giniben or Gini Thakor was born in 1975 in Absana village of Banas Kantha. She entered politics at a young age with social service in her district. By the time Giniben became a famous social service, especially in the Thakor community of the Gujarat state. She joined the Indian National Congress party and her political career started in the 2012 Assembly elections of Gujarat State.

Giniben was introduced by the Indian National Congress Party on account of her stronghold on the Thakor community in the state as a social worker. She was also very active on the social media to raise the issues of the Thakor Community. She won her first electoral contest in state assembly elections 2017 from the Vav assembly constituency of the state in 2017. Giniben Thakor has now officially shifted to New Delhi at her official residence as a member of the Parliament of India.
