Shri Samirul Islam, a politician from the West Bengal state of India is serving his first term as a member of the Parliament as the representative of West Bengal in the Rajya Sabha. He was fielded by the All India Trinamool Congress Party in the Rajya Sabha Election. Samirul won the Rajya Sabha seat with the majority and joined central politics.

He was born in 1987 in Danigram, District Birbhumi, West Bengal state. Samirul Islam finished his Schooling in his native place and moved to New Delhi for higher education. He completed his Master’s degree in science from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. After completing his education, he moved back to West Bengal. Samirul Islam worked as an Assistant professor at Andrews College, Kolkata.
