Pradan Baruah is an Indian Politician who has served as a member of the Lok Sabha. He is associated with the Bhartiya Janata Party and was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha from the Lakhimpur seat in November 2016. Pradan Baruah was elected thrice in General Elections. Before contesting the Parliamentary Elections, he was a member of the Assam Legislative Assembly from Dhemaji Assembly constituency from 19 May 2016 to 22 November 2016. Shri Pradan Baruah was previously a member of the Indian National Congress but defected from Congress before the assembly election along with Himanta Biswa Sarma in 2016.

Baruah started his political journey with INC but later became a BJP member. He has a greater contribution to the Dhemaji Assembly constituency. Dhemaji is also a Lok Sabha constituency, so he was also deleted from the same constituency as the MP of Lok Sabha. Pradhan Baruah won the by-election in November 2016, after the sitting member Sarbananda Sonowal resigned from the seat in May 2016 after becoming the Chief Minister of Assam.
