Shri Kaushalendra Kumar is a well-known Indian politician and Agriculturist from Bihar. He is serving as a Member of the Parliament in Lok Sabha from Nalanda constituency. Kaushalendra was elected to the 18th Lok Sabha by defeating the CPI(ML) Party’s candidate Sandeep Saurav with a margin of 169114 votes. He is a representative of the Janata Dal (United) party.

He was born to the farmer family of Kameshwar Garai and Saraswati Devi in village Haidarchak, Distt. Nalanda, Bihar on 13 January 1959. His father was a farmer. Kaushalendra Kumar completed his B.A. (Hons.) degree at S.P.M. College, Udatpuri, Biharsharif. He also has an Agriculture Education from Kisan College, Sohsarai, Nalanda, University of Magadh, Bodhgaya, Bihar.

Kaushalendra Kumar is active in politics during college times and a supporter of agrarian and social reform. He joins the RJD and works for parties in various campaigns in the Naladna district. In 2009, he was nominated by Nitish Kumar in the constituency for the General election and he won by a huge margin. Shri Kaushalendra continuously served as a Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha from Nalandha Constituency for four consecutive terms (15th, 16th, 17th & 18th Lok Sabha). He is a great agriculturist as well as a politician.
