Shivraj Singh Chouhan is a famous Indian politician from Madhya Pradesh, India. He has been serving as the 32nd Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and 23rd Minister of Rural Development since 11 June 2024. Shivraj contested the 2024 General Election from Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, and won the Vidisha seat against Congress’ Pratap Bhanu Sharma by 8,21,408 votes. Previously, he was also a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from 1991 to 2005. He contested the election on the ticket of the BJP.
Shri Shivraj Singh was the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh from 2020 to 2023 and previously from 2005 to 2018. He also served as the Member of Legislative Assembly in Madhya Pradesh from Budhni Constituency from 2006 to 2024 and previously from 1990 to 1991. Shivraj Singh Chouhan from BJP was the longest-serving Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, serving for more than 16 years.

Former CM Shivraj Singh started his political journey by joining the RSS in 1972, as a 13-year-old. After that, he became active in student politics. He was elected President of the Model School Students Union in 1975. Shivraj Singh Chohan participated in the underground movement against the Emergency and was imprisoned in Bhopal Jail for some time from 1976 to 1977. He was a convener of Akhil Bhartiya Keshariya Vahini from 1991 to 1992. From 1993 to 1996, Shivraj Singh Chouhan was a Member of the Committee on Labour and Welfare and was a Member of Hindi Salahkar Samiti from 1994 to 2000.
