Dr. Sharmila Sarkar, a Young politician and doctor by profession is currently serving as a member of the 18th Lok Sabha of the Parliament of India. She contested in her first electoral contest as the representative of the All India Trinamool Congress Party. She contested from the Bhardhman Purba constituency of the West Bengal State. Dr. Sharmila won the election defeating the NDA candidate by a huge margin.
Sharmila Sarkar was born in the Bengali Family of Surath Sarkar and Chhabi Sarkar in the Katwa town of Bardhman District in 1980, After her schooling she entered RG Kar Medical College and obtained an MBBS and MD degree. Sharmila started her career with Calcutta Medical College and finally entered into politics.
