Sharad Chandra Pawar prominent politician and current Rajya Sabha member was born in Baramati, Maharashtra in 1940. He belongs to the political family of the pre-independence era of India. He inclined toward politics since his school days. Sharad Pawar was the organizer of the 1956 independence of Goa. He joined the Congress party in his college time and later he became the president of the Pune district.
Shri Sharad Pawar first contested for the Maharashtra Assembly Election from the Baramati seat. He won the election at the young age of 27 and became a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He was contended for the next 23 years from the Baramati constituency.
