Shri Shahu Shahaji Chhatrapati also known as Shahu II is the 12th descendant of Shivaji, the great-grandson of Shahu I of Kolhapur, and the son and heir to Shahaji II of Kolhapur. He is also a well-known politician from Maharashtra, who is serving as the Member of the Lok Sabha from the Kolhapur constituency. Shahu Shahaji defeated the Shiv Sena’s Candidate Sanjay Sadashivrao Mandlik with a majority of 1,54,964 votes. He is a member Indian National Congress.

Shahu II was born on 7 January 1948 to Shahaji Chhatrapati and Pramilaraje Chhatrapati in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He completed his BA from Indore University. Shri Shahu Shahaji married Smt. Yadnaseniraje, from the Pawar family of Mangsuli on 9 March 1970. Their elder son Sambhaji was born in 1971 and the younger son Maloji in 1976. His son is a prominent politician in Maharashtra State and serves in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.
