Smt. Savitri Thakur, a Bhartiya Janta Party politician from the Tribal Community of Madhya Pradesh state is currently serving as a member of the parliament and serving as Union Minister in the government of India. She won the general election in 2024 from the Dhar Lok Sabha constituency. Savitri Dhar defeated Radheshyam Muvel of the Indian National Congress party by a margin of more than 2 Lakh votes.
She was born in the family of Shri Antar Singh and Jamuna Bai in Kalikiray Village of Dhar District in 1978. Savitri Thakur finished her schooling with 10 classes at a local government school. She was interested in social service in his community as she belongs to the Tribal community of the state. Savitri Thakur joined an NGO and connected with RSS while she was working with the NGO. She became a permanent member of the RSS and soon she entered into local politics after joining the BJP.

Savitri Thakur first contested in a local body election and became a member of the Dhar Zila Panchayat. She again contested and was elected as the president of the Zila Panchayat. Her political career was boosted after she was introduced as the candidate of the Dhar constituency in the general election of 2014. She won the reserved seat in the Dhar constituency and joined the parliament of India. Savitri Thakur is now living in New Delhi as a member of the Parliament and Union Minister of the government of India.
