Shri Satyajit Shivajirao Deshmukh former congress general secretary of Maharashtra state is serving as the state legislative assembly member. Satyajit contested in the state assembly election as the representative from the Shirala constituency of the Bhartiya Janta Party. He won his first electoral contest against his nearest rival Mansing Fattesingrao Naik on Nationalist Congress Party( SP) by a margin of more than 22 thousand votes. Satyajit Deshmukh joined the BJP after resigning from the Congress party membership.
He was born in Kokrud town of Sangli District in the family of Shivajirao Deshmukh and Sarojini Shivajirao Deshmukh in 1974. His father was active in state politics and served as the MLA from the Shirala constituency. Satyajit Deshmukh joined the congress party with his father and started his political career as a member. He is involved with the constituency from the grassroots level and was elected as a member of Zila Parishad of Sangli District in his initial political career.
