Shri Satpal Brahamchari, Senior Congress leader and former president of Haridwar Nagar Pakilka Parishad is serving his first term as a member of the Parliament in the 18th Lok Sabha. He was introduced as the candidate of the Indian National Congress Party from the Sonipat Lok Sabha constituency of Haryana state. Satpal won the Lok Sabha seated defeating the BJP candidate. He belonged to the Jind District of Haryana state and was moved to Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Shri Satpal Brahmachari was active in Uttarakhand state politics as a member of the Congress party.

He was born in the Brahmin family of Shri Radha Krishan Brahamchari and Smt Channo Devi in 1964. Satpal Brahamchari moved to Haridwar to study Sanskrit and involved himself in social service and spirituality. Soon he became the known saint of the Haridwar city. Shri Satpal Brahamchari was involved in the local body politics in Haridwar as a member of the Congress party. He was elected as the Chairman of the Nagar Palika of the Haridwar in 2003.
