Dr. Sasmit Patra, a sitting member of the parliament of India was born in the Cuttack district of Odisha state in 1979. He is politically connected with Biju Janta Dal part of Odisha. He served as the national Spokesperson and media co-ordinator of the party. He worked with Biju Patnaik former CM of and founder of Biju Janata Dal and his son Naveen Patnaik.
