Prof. S P Singh Baghel or Satya Pal Singh Baghel, a Senior politician of Uttar Pradesh is currently serving his fifth term as a member of the Lok Sabha of the Parliament of India. He contested from Agra Lok Sabha Constituency, which was reserved for the SC category in the general election 2024 as the candidate of BJP. S P Singh Baghel defeated Suresh Chand Kardam of Samajwadi party/ INDIA alliance candidate by more than two lakh votes.
S. P. Baghel comes from the Gadariya SC community of the Upstate. His political career started as a member of the Samajwadi party. He won his first electoral contest In Lok Sabha in 1998 and consecutively won the seat for the Samajwadi party in 1999, and 2004. S P Singh Baghel was expelled by the party and he joined Bahujan Samaj Party. He lost his next electoral contest and entered the Rajya Sabha as the candidate of the Bahujan Samaj Party.
