Randeep Surjewala, politician, lawyer, and current member of the Upper House of the Parliament of India was born in the family of Veteran politicians Samsher Sing Surjewala and Vidhya in 1967. Surjewala inherited politics from his father who served as the MLA of the Haryana State for multiple terms. Randeep Singh was very active in politics while he was in his young age and during his college years. Randeep finished his schooling in Chandigarh city and moved to DAV college to finish his graduation. He enrolled for the LLB degree from Punjab University and after finishing he completed a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from Punjab University. Surjewala lives with his wife Gayatri and two sons in Chandigarh city of the Haryana state.

In his college days, he was active in politics and served on various committees of the college. He joined the Indian National Congress party and was appointed as the general secretary of the Haryana Youth Indian National Congress party. Randeep was the youngest Haryanvi who served as the general secretary. He contested the State assembly election and joined as the Haryana state assembly member from various constituency. Randeep Surjewala is currently serving as the Member of the Parliament from Rajasthan constituency.

Randeep is known as the fire-brand politician of the Congress party in the Northern region of India. He served as the spokesperson of the Indian National Congress Party from 2017 to 1021. His term as the minister in the Bhupendra Hudda INC party government of Haryana was known for his development work across the state. He was defeated by Bhartiya Janta Party Candidate Lila Ram Gujjar in the assembly election 2019 of Haryana state.
