Smt. Rachna Banerjee, Actress, Television Anchor turned politician of West Bengal state is currently serving her first term as a member of the Parliament of India. She is a famous Bengali and Odia movie actor, Television Anker, and Model. Recently she joined the Mamata Banerjee-led AITMC party. Rachna Banerjee contested in the general election of 2024 as the representative of AITMC from the Prestigious Hooghly Constituency. She won the constituency defeating Bhartiya Janta Party and CPI(M) candidates by a huge margin.
Rachna Banerjee or “Jhum Jhum Banerjee” was born in Kolkata City. She completed her schooling and joined South City College for higher education. Rachna Banerjee was crowned as the Miss Kolkata when she was pursuing graduation. After graduation, she started modeling and got a chance in the Bengali film industry as an actress. Her original name was changed by the director of her first movie from Jhum Jhum to Rachna Banerjee.
