Shri R K Chaudhary, a senior Ambedkarist politician of Uttar Pradesh is serving his first term as a member of the Parliament from the Mohanlalganj constituency of Lok Sabha. He defeated BJP candidate Kausal Kishore in the general election of 2024 by more than 70 thousand votes. His political career started with former leader Kansiram of Uttar Pradesh. Chaudhary was the founding member of the Bahujan Samaj Party in UP. He was elected as the MLA four times and served as the cabinet minister in the UP government.

R K Chaudhary was born in 1850 in the Dalit Family of Uttar Pradesh. He earned his early education from the government school of his native place and moved to Gorakhpur for higher education. R.K. Chaudhry obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Gorakhpur University and an LLB from Avadh University. He was inclined towards politics at a young age. Shri R K Chaudhary was impressed by the ideology of Bhimrao Ambedkar which led him closer to Kansiram and Mayawati.

R K Chaudhary is one of the founding members of the Bahujan Samaj party which was founded to empower the Dalit Communities of the state by Kansiram in the early 90s. He was first contested in an electoral contest as the candidate of the Bahujan Samaj Party. R.K. Chaudhry parted from BSP in 2019 and joined the Congress party. He again left the congress party and joined the Samajwadi Party and contested in the 2024 General elections. R K Chaudhary lives in New Delhi at his official residence as a member of the parliament.
