Phani Bhusan Choudhury is a well-known Indian politician from the Assam State of India. He is associated with the Asom Gana Parishad. He currently serves as a member of the Parliament (lower house), representing the Barpeta Lok Sabha constituency. Phani Bhusan has a distinguished record of representing the Bongaigaon constituency for the eighth consecutive time in the Assam Legislative Assembly since 1985.

He started his political journey with Asom Gana Parishad by contesting the Assembly elections in 1985. Phani Bhusan Choudhury was a member of the Assam Legislative Assembly from 1985  to 9 June 2024. In the 2024 Lok Sabha Election, he contested the election from the Barpeta Lok Sabha constituency on the Asom Gana Parishad tickets and won the election by a margin of 2,22,351 votes against the nearest rival Deep Bayan from Congress.
