Shri Om Birla, Member of Parliament and Hon’ble Speaker of the 18th Lok Sabha was born in 1962 in the Kota City of Rajasthan state. In his long journey in Indian politics, he served many posts as a member of parliament and the Bhartiya Janta Party. His Political journey started as a member of the Rajasthan State Assembly in 2003. He was first contested as the candidate of the General Election 2014 from the Kota constituency. Om Birla is currently serving his third term in the parliament and second term as the Hon’ble Speaker of the Lok Sabha.

He finished his schooling and joined Government Commerce College Kota and Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer. Om Birla obtained M Com Degree. He started his political career as a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party. In his first election contest, he defeated the Indian National Congress Party by more than 10000 votes. He succeeds in his two next elections in 2008 and 2013.

He was elected as the speaker of the Lok Sabha in 2019. In his second term, he was once again elected as the Speaker of the 18th Lok Sabha in 2024.
