N. Chandrasegharan is a famous Indian Politician from Tamil Nadu. He was elected as a member of parliament (Upper House) in the 2019 Rajya Sabha Elections, by representing the Tamil Nadu constituency. Chandrasekaran is associated with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AADMK) party. He is one of the popular SC leaders in Tamil Nadu. Chandrasekaran was born to the Nalla Thambi and Paripooranam in Mettur, Distt. Salem of Tamil Nadu on 02 Jan 1955. He belongs to the Arundathiyar community which is defined as Scheduled Casts (SC) in India. N. Chandrasegharan graduated with a B.Sc. from Government Arts College, University of Madras, Salem, Tamil Nadu. He is also a social worker as well as a veteran politician of Tamilnadu state.

N. Chandrasegharan had an interest in politics during his college days, But, he officially started his political career by joining the AADMK. He works to strengthen party roots among SC & ST communities. N. Chandrasegharan handled various key posts in the party and organized various companies for the party. In 2019, he became the Rajya Sabha MP. Then he served as a Member of the Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment from September 2019 to June 2024. Later, he was appointed as a Member of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways from 2019 to 2024.
