Mahua Maji or Mahua Manjhi, a politician from the Jharkhand state, serving as the current Rajya Sabha member of the parliament of India. She contested as the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha party candidate in the Rajya Sabha election in 2022. Mahua is an established Hindi writer of the state. Her published novels have become famous in Hindi literature. She joined Jharkhand Mukti Morcha before the state was separated from Bihar state.

She belongs to a Bangla family in West Bengal. She was born in Ranchi in 1964 to Parimal Ghosh and Sushma Ghosh. Mahua Maji finished her schooling in Ranchi and enrolled in Ranchi University for higher education. She completed her graduation and post-graduation in Sociology and finished her PhD from the university.

Mahua was appointed as the Chairperson of the Jharkhand State Commission for Women in 2013. She served as the Chairperson till 2016. Smt. Mahua Maji first contested in a direct electoral contest in 2014 as the candidate of JMM but she lost to BJP candidate CP Singh. She is also serving as the chairperson of the Jharkhand Mukti Mahila Morcha. In the upcoming bi-poll 2024 Mahua Manjhi is going to contest again the in the election in Jharkhand State as the candidate of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.
