Shri Kishori Lal Sharma is a prominent Indian Politician from Uttar Pradesh. Currently, he is serving as a Member of Parliament (Lower House) from Amethi Lok Sabha Constituency. He won the 2024 Lok Sabha Election by defeating the former MP and BJP candidate Smriti Irani with a margin of 1,67,196 votes. Smriti Irani defeated Rahul Gandhi on this seat in the previous Lok Sabha Election 2019.
He was born on 15 December 1960 to the family Amar Nath and Sita Devi in Hoshiarpur, Punjab. However, Kishori Lal grew up in Ludhiana, Punjab. He completed a BA from Arya College, Ludhiana, Punjab University. Shri KL Sharma is a businessperson by profession and engaged with Indian National Congress at the time of former PM of India Late Shri Rajeev Gandhi. He does not have any prior experience with the election, he just worked as an INC Coordinator in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.

Shri KL Sharma first met Rajiv Gandhi in 1983. Amethi used to be Rajiv Gandhi’s Lok Sabha constituency, and in 1987, Gandhi sent Sharma to monitor and review work in the constituency on behalf of the Indian National Congress (INC). After Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination in 1991, Satish Sharma became the Indian National Congress candidate for Amethi, and Kishori Lal Sharma continued managing and coordinating the INC’s work in the constituency. After, losing the Amethi Constituency Rahul Gandhi in the 2019 General Election., INC nominated Kishori Lal Sharma in the 2024 General election from Amethi and he won the seat by a huge margin.
