Shri Khiru Mahto, a Politician from Bihar/ Jharkhand is currently serving his first term as a member of the parliament of India. He was introduced as the candidate of the Janta Dal-United party from Bihar state Rajya Sabha seat in the 2022 election. Khiru Mahto is one of the senior leaders of the Bihar state. After the separation of Jharkhand state from Bihar he contested in the Bihar state assembly election and served as the cabinet minister in the Jharkhand state government.

He was born in the farming family of Shri Piyari Mahtoand Shrimati Maini Devi in 1953 in Kedla town of Ramgarh district. Khiru Mahto was brought up in his town by his mother with his siblings. He dropped his education after high school and joined farming with his family. Later Khiru Mahto started social service in his town and raised the voice of the farmers of the state.

Mahto joined Janata Dal for and first time contested in a direct electoral contest in Jharkhand state in 2005. Shri Khiru Mahto won and joined the state government as the minister of state.
