Dr John Brittas is a popular Indian politician, journalist, managing director of Kairali TV and Kairali News (Malayalam Communications Ltd) and former Business Head of (Asianet Communications) from Kerala. He was born on May 15, 1966 in Pulikurumba, Naduvil, Distt. Kannur (Kerala) to Late Shri A. P. Pailyi and Annamma. John Brittas obtained a B.A. and M.A. degree from Calicut University, Kerala. Then, completed his M. Phil at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. Brittas also did his PhD at Jawaharlal Nehru University in 2022. He had a flair for writing and was involved in college-level literary activities, by chance his interest was increasing in Journalism and then, he decided to start his career in Journalism.

Dr John Brittas worked for Malayalam Communications Ltd for Eleven years. Then, he became the CEO of Asianet Communications Limited on 2 May 2011. He also got an offer from MCL as MD of the new division on 27 February 2013 and took charge in March 2013. From 2016 to 2021, John Brittas also served as the Advisor to the Chief Minister of Kerala. In April 2021 he was elected to Rajya Sabha. There, he served as the Member of Committee on Commerce in 2021, Member of Telephone Advisory Committee for Trivandrum, Kerala from 2021 to 2022 and Member, of Committee on Communications and Information Technology from 2021-2024.
