Jawhar Sircar was sitting MP in the Upper House of Parliament of India of the Trinamool Congress party from West Bengal. He was born in Kolkata west Bengal in 1952. He has a double master’s degree in History and Sociology. Jawahar Sircar studied at Presidency College Kolkata and Cambridge College, UK. Later, he started his career as an Indian Administrative Service officer in 1975. He served and examined the maximum area of the West Bengal state.

He was later appointed as the CEO of Prasar Bharati in 2012. Jawhar Sircar was not happy with the policies of the NDA government. He resigned early from his post and joined Trinamool Congress (TMC).
