Shri Chhatrapal Singh won the 2024 General Lok Sabha Election by defeating the rival S.P. candidate Praveen Singh Aron with a huge margin of 34804 votes. He secured 50.66%  of the total votes in the Bareilly Lok Sabha Constituency.

He was born to a Hindu family of Ramlal Singh Gangwa on 20 January 1956 in Damkhoda, Bareilly, India. Chhatrapal Gangwar belongs to a member of the Kurmi caste. He completed his MA in Economics & B ED at Rohelkhand University in Bareilly. Later, he started his political career by joining the BJP and served as the party worker in their locality. Chhatrapal Singh also served as the many key portfolios in the party in their locality.

Chhatrapal Gangwar served also as the Revenue Minister in the Uttar Pradesh government from 2021 to 2022. In 2024, he was nominated as the candidate from BJP for the 18th Lok Sabha Election from Bareilly.
