Shri Vasantrao Balwantrao “V. B.” Chavan was a prominent Indian politician from Maharashtra. He has been serving as a Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha since June 2024. He was elected to the 18th Lok Sabha from Nanded Lok Sabha Constituency by defeating the BJP candidate, Prataprao Govindrao Chikhalikar with a margin of 1,457 votes. V. B. Chavan was an active member of the Indian National Congress and joined in 2014.

He was born to Balwantrao Chavan and Kalavati Bai in Naigaon City of Maharashtra on 15 August 1954. V. B. Chavan just completed his B.Com (II Year) from People’s College, Nanded affiliated to the University of Aurangabad. He died on 26 August 2024, at the age of 70. Shri V. B. Chavan was active in politics during his college times.

Chavan joined the Indian National Congress party in September 2014 and was re-elected to the 13th Maharashtra Assembly as the candidate of INC.
