Former IPS and politician Brij Lal is a current Member of Parliament in the upper house (Rajya Sabha) from the Uttar Pradesh constituency. 1977 Batch IPS served as Director General of Police of Uttar Pradesh. After retirement, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and became the prominent face of other backward-class communities in Uttar Pradesh. His inclination in social service and politics BJP Party nominated him as the Rajya Sabha member from the Uttar Pradesh constituency in 2020.
In a short span of his political career, he emerges as the prominent leader among the OBC community in the state. He leads various departments of police services like Low & Order Crime, Anti Terrorism Squad (STS), and Special Task Force in various cities of the country. After he retired from the Indian Police Service, he joined the Bharatiya Janta Party in 2015.
