B. Y. Raghavendra, a Politician of Karnataka State is currently serving as a member of the 18th Lok Sabha of the parliament from Shimoga constituency. He is a representative of the Bhartiya Janta party and also served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Karnataka Vidhan Sabha. His political career was started with his father B. S. Yediyurappa, ex-chief minister of the Karnataka State.

Raghavendra was born in district Shimoga of Karnataka state in 1973. He was brought up by his mother completed his schooling in his native town and graduated from A.T.N.C.C. Shimoga, Karnataka. Raghvendra started his politics as a member of the BJP with his father. He was introduced first time from the Shikaripura Constituency of Vidhan Sabha.

Raghvendra was first introduced as the candidate of the Shikaripura Lok Sabah constituency in the 15th Lok Sabha election in 2009. He defeated former CM Sarekoppa Bangarappa from Shimoga.
