Ashok Kumar Mittal, a Businessman and politician from Punjab state is serving his first term as a member of the upper house of Parliament of India. He contested in the Rajya Sabha poll 2022 from the Punjab seat as the candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party. Ashok Kumar Mittal is the founder of Lovely Professional University which has multiple branches across India.

He was born in the Punjabi family of Baldev Raj Mittal and Shrimati Shanti Devi Mittal in Jalandhar City in 1964. Ashok Kumar Mittal completed his schooling in Jaladhar and obtained an LLB degree from Gurunanak Dev University, Amritsar. He joined politics after the Aam Aadmi Party formed the government first time in Punjab state after winning the 2022 assembly elections.
