Shri Arun Govil is a prominent Indian actor and politician from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. He is serving as a Member of Parliament in the 18th Lok Sabha from Meerut constituency as the candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Arun Govil was elected to Lok Sabah by defeating the Samajwadi Party’s candidate Sunita Verma with a margin of 10,585 votes. He got 46.21% of total votes.
He was born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh to Chandraprakash Govil and Sharada Devi in 1952. Arun Govil obtained a B.SC degree from Agra University. He is known for portraying Lord Rama in the Ramayan TV series. Shri Arun Govil is an actor by profession and appeared in various films like Paheli (1977), Sawan Ko Aane Do (1979), Saanch Ko Aanch Nahin (1979), Jiyo To Aise Jiyo (1981), Himmatwala (1983) and Dilwaala (1986).
