Uday Ravindra Samant, a Politician of Maharashtra state current member of the state assembly from Ratnagiri seat. He contested in the state assembly election 2024 as the candidate of Shiv Sena and defeated his nearest rival Bal Mane of Shiv Sena (UBT) by a huge margin of more than forty-four thousand votes. Ravindra was active in state politics from a young age. Uday Samant was first contested in the 2004 elections and secured his seat of Ratnagiri Vidhan Sabha.

He has been serving as the MLA from the Ratnagiri seat since 2004 and remained unbeaten until the 2024 election. Uday Samant won the 2004, 2009, 2014, and 2019 Vidhan Sabha elections before winning the seat again in 2024. Uday also served as the cabinet minister twice in his political career. He is a known social worker and politician with a vast understanding of state politics. Shri Uday Samant is also serving as the Chairman of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority.

Uday Samant was also appointed as the Deputy Leader of the Maharashtra state assembly in 2022. Currently, he lives in Mumbai city with his family.
