Sunil Satpal Sangwan, retired Jail Superintendent and Minister of the CM Nayab Saini-led BJP government in Haryana state 2024 was born in 1974. His Father Satpal Sangwan retired BSNL officer turned politician served as the minister in the Bhupendra Hoodda-led Congress government of the state. Sunil Sangwan was selected among the ten ministers in Nayab Singh Saini’s government team on 17th Oct 2024. He finished his schooling and higher education and joined the State Police Service Commission.

In his career in the Haryana police department, he has served in multiple roles before retiring as the Jailer of Sunariya Jail, Rohtak Haryana. The Jail was famous for the prisoner Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who was convicted of Rape and murder case. Sunil Sangwan was released from jail just before the election result of the Haryana assembly election. He was released for his good conduct inside the prison. Sangwan was the Jail superintendent and he verified the behavior of the Gurmeet Ram Rahim of Dera Sacha Sauda chief.

His father was a four-time winner as MLA in this constituency. Although his father was in the Indian National Congress Party, he also left the Congress Party and joined the JP before Sunil joined athletics. Sunil lives in Charkhi Dadri with his joint family.
