AIADMK senior leader and Member of the upper house of Parliament of India Shri C. Ve. Shanmugam was born in Tindivanam city of Tamil Nadu State of India. He is a permanent member of the AIADMK regional political party of India. He was elected four times as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu State. Ve. Shanmugam was the general secretary of the AIADMK for 10 years. He lives in Vellupuram district with his family. He was introduced as the Rajya Sabha candidate by the party in 2022.

C. Ve. Shanmugam was arrested for his protest against the various subsidies withdrawn by the Tamil Nadu Government.
