Dr. M. Thambidurai, Senior politician and Rajya Sabha member of Parliament was born in Madras, now Chennai in 1947 few months before India’s Independence. Dr. M. Thambidurai was elected 6 times as a Lok Sabha Member, Three times as MLA of the Tamil Nadu Assembly & currently serving as a member of Rajya Sabha from the Tamil Nadu Constituency. He started his vast political career in his student life by becoming a member of the Student wing of the DMK party.
He is known as the founder of AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) in 1972. His intelligent political understanding and hard work at booth level for the party nominated him for MLA in 1977. He was again nominated for the Lok Sabha Election from his constituency in 1979. M. Thambidurai served in various positions and departs of Center Government and State Government.
