Shri Durgadas D D Uikey, a politician from Madhya Pradesh is currently serving his second consecutive term as a member of Parliament and first term as the Union Mister of the PM Narendra Modi-led Government of India. He was contested as the representative from the Betul reserved constituency for scheduled Tribes. DD Uikey won the election defeating Indian National Congress Candidate Shri Ramu Tekam by the margin of around three lakh eighty thousand votes. He is currently serving as the Union Minister in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

D D Uikey was born in the tribal community family of Surat Ram Lal Uikey and Kali Uikery in 1963 in the tribal village Mirapur of Betul District. Durgadas Uikey completed his MA from Jaywanti Haksar Government PG College and B. Ed from Sagar University Sagar. He was a teacher by profession before entering state politics.

Durgadas joined the teaching profession after completing B. Ed but he aimed to make his career as the leader of the tribal community of the state. He started social service in his hometown after leaving the teaching profession. D D Uikey joined the BJP as a member and got the opportunity to contest as the candidate in the general election 2019. He won the election and joined the Parliament of India. Now Duragadas is officially living in North Avenue, New Delhi as a parliamentarian.
