Kali Charan won the 2024 General Parliamentary Election by defeating the INC candidate Krishna Nand Tripathi by a margin of 220959 votes. He was born in the Sonbigha Vilag of Chatra District in Jharkhand on 28 January 1962 to Baidyanath Singh and Ambika Devi. Kalicharan completed his B.Sc. and B.Ed degree from Ranchi University in 1981. Later, he started his career as a Teacher in various government Schools in Jharkhand.
