Shri Suresh Gopinath Mhatre, Politically known as ‘Balya Mama’ Politician from Maharashtra is serving as the current Member of the Parliament. He contested in the general election 2024 of Lok Sabha as the candidate of the Nationalist Congress Party Sharad Pawar and INDIA alliance. Suresh Mhatre won the Lok Sabha seat defeating his business and political rival Kapil Patil of Bhartiya Janta party by sixty Six Thousand.

Balya Mama was born in the family of Gopinath Mhatre and Rekha Mhatre in Bhiwandi. His family was in business and after completing his higher secondary he dropped his education and started a business. Suresh Mhatre joined politics with his business in his local area. He joined the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena in 2014. Suresh Mhatre lost his first election in 2014 to BJP candidate Kapil Patil.

Shri Suresh Mhatre was associated with Shiv Sena for a long time. He resigned from the party after Raj Thackery founded a new political party. Suresh Mhatre contested in the Lok Sabha election in 2014. He lost the election in a close contest with the BJP candidate. Suresh Gopinath was once again nominated as the Independent candidate from the Bhiwandi seat but withdrew his nomination in 2019. He is currently living in New Delhi as a Member of the Parliament (Lok Sabha).
